Too busy to post???

What's up with that?

I've been pretty busy the last couple of weeks.

Got everything on the Jeep that I got at the swapmeet and a few other things too! I'm riding on 33"x12.50" BFG MT's. Took a while to decide, but it's what I finally came up with.

Tired Feet...

Phew! Did a lot of walking Sunday at the Moonshiners Swapmeet.

This was my first time and I went with my father in law and a friend who usually go every year. We're all in the process of getting our Jeeps together for a trip to the Rubicon with a jamboree this summer. So we all had a good mental list of what we were looking for, and we all found something.

The 2 CJ's were looking for tire carriers and cargo racks. I was looking for all that plus lift shackles, an Optima Yellow top, 15x8 wheels and 33" tires, mirror relocation brackets, safari doors, 7" TJ flares.... You get the point. I was looking for some stuff and was ready to spend some $$..

I did pretty good. I got the Optima Yellow Top, 1" Lift Shackles, Olmpic Bumper and Tire Carrier (turns out the bumper was the front, but a great deal, and I needed a front also), and a few other odds and ends. I walked out with a few $$'s left in my pocket.

Now it's time to start ordering up all that stuff I didn't find.. Better give the checkbook a week off first.

My Jeep grew an inch today.

I spent this afternoon installing the 1" Daystar lift that I got a great deal on from All American Truck and SUV. They told me it was missing 1 bolt, and that's I'd have to get one from the parts store, but other than that it was supposed to be all there. When I got the kit home, it had in fact been opened, but I did an inventory and everything was there. Sweet! I got this kit, which is replaces the factory mounts and adds 1"body lift for less than $100. Again, sweet deal!

Install was pretty straight forward, did not have any unexpected snafu's.

While I was at it, I also pulled the TC drop out that I installed back in January as part of the BDS 2" lift. I just didn't like the thought of giving up that belly room for no reason. I didn't seem to pick up any bad vibes after putting the TC back up, but we'll see if anything develops. If so, SYE and CV Shaft time. It's on my list of things to do anyway, so that's cool.

Also today I decided to hold off on the 4:1 for a while. I really think I should wheel with the stock case for a while, so I can appreciate the 4:1 when/if I do it, and also figure I can learn how to drive what I've got rather than just buying tech.

Torn...

I'm ripping myself apart trying to decide if I should put the 4:1 teralow in now or wait. It'll be nice on the rocks, and we're planning on doing rocks this summer on the rubicon trip. But at the same time, THAT'S A LOT OF MONEY!!! I'd also like to do a SYE, ,even though I am only running a 2" BDS Lift. I did drop the TC using the parts supplied in the kit and would like to get that clearance back. Never drove w/o the TC Drop, not sure if I'd have vibe issues or not. I plan to get close to another 1" using some shackles, and I'm just not sure how much it's gonna mess of the angles. I just dont know.
This weekend, I think I will take the TC drop out and see how it feels.

Both Jacki and I enjoy Jeeping. She kind of grew up on it, so it's easy to convince her into a trip. On this trip a few weeks ago, we took the dog up top play in the snow.

Not that I needed them, but I had also just installed my Shrockworks YJ Sliders. They look beefy as heck and cover the rockers darn near all the way into the frame. Soon, I'll find something to actually slide over.

It's true, we're a 2 Jeep house.

My wife also drives a Jeep, a 2002 Grand Cherokee.
